Comebacks

Last night during the break in class, Jim and I walked out to his car to listen his radio for a score of the game. Good ol' reliable Jon Miller, giver of the every-five-minute score told us that it was 5-0 Rays. Given that the game was about 2 1/2 hours old, Jim smiled, turned off the radio, and said, "That's it. It's over." We smiled and went back to class.

Stinkin' Red Sox.

You should have been watching. Joe Maddon fell into the classic trap of out-smarting himself. His starter was cruising but it was the start of the 7th and he decided to turn the game over to the Bull Pen. As my middle school kids would say, "Crackhead."

I could not believe he pulled his starter. I wonder what all those Sox fans who left early thought when they learned they just missed one of the great comebacks of all time?! I'm still hoping the Rays will take the series, but I'm thinking the tide just turned against them. Fortunately I really don't care about MLB so it's a non issue for me.

Now if you want to talk about 'Bama not clutching this Saturday, I'll enter into that discussion!
