When the squeeze play failed, my first thought was of a math teacher in Fresno. When the game winning run crossed the plate, my first thought was of a math teacher in Fresno. Now that the Angels are resting until next season, maybe I can stop thinking so much about how a certain math teacher is doing in Fresno!
My condolences ... which is more than you'll get from a certain preacher in Stockton!
I'm sorry the Angels lost but I'm glad I can stop flapping my arms or thinking about that darn Rally Monkey. Did he ever come by the way?
My son was on both ends of failed squeeze plays. BTW - he'll get more attempts (hopefully) at squeeze play as he made the Brevard Community College Team.
Steve, contrary to how I've been vilified and slandered, I am sorry for your pain and for your loss. I understand how much the Angels mean to you and regret that with such a stellar season it had to end like this.
As to me rooting for Boston. In some ways I'm still on "east coast time". We spent a marvelous time in Gloucester, Mass this summer and enjoyed rooting for the team that dumped Manny. I'm especially thrilled that Jason Bay is doing so well as he is what Boston received for dumping Manny. I hope the guy becomes an universe all-star and or President one day just to avenge the good guys who play the game for the sake of the game and not for the sake of themselves.
But I ramble . . . there is at least one preacher in Stockton that is wearing black today in your honor.
How do you not dive back in to third? I'm sorry, but if he had made the full effort, I think he would have been safe and the pain averted. I've had players run into tags, jog to balls, and make a second error after a first. What that all comes down to is the mental game. As a Braves fan, I was living through your passion about the Angels. AARRRGH! Sorry man. I feel your pain. Shane

I know the pain you feel...I felt the same way when the NY Rangers lost in the playoffs.
