This Way Lies Madness
Under the category of things I do all the time but seldom admit:This morning I was walking down the hallway towards my classroom. I was reading the mail that was in my box as I walked. Approaching my door, I got my car keys out of my pocket and pressed the "unlock" button. Nothing happened. I put them away, looked around, and got my other keys out.
Oh, like none of you have ever done something like that.

So, when Tonya and I were still dating, we went out to see Star Wars: The Phantom Menace together. And we both really got a kick out of the "Jedi Mind Trick", which I started using on everything... including traffic lights. It seemed like such a good idea at the time.... But then I had to go and do it enough that it became a habit. I still have to fight down the urge by conscious force of will, to wave my hand serenely at the upcoming red light, and intone in a smooth, suggestive voice: "Green is such a lovely color."
I should have listened to the old adage that "Once is funny, twice is not funny, three times is a spanking." And then gotten someone to spank me.
