First Grade

James is really enjoying his first week in First Grade. His mother and I are dealing with the realities of weekly spelling tests, school days that go until 3:00, and the goal of reading 1,000 pages in a year!

What happened to finger painting and playing in the sandbox?

Ah, just talk to my wife about how Kindergarten and First Grade have changed. I love the picture. I know us old geezers sound the same but enjoy the time Dad for it will go by fast.

It has been good seeing you. The kid looks better in life than on the web.

Do YOU remember First Grade????

That was when I learned how to read and write, I think.

Things certainly did change when my kid started First Grade.

That's was when the Principal called me to tell me my kid was reading to him from an encyclopedia! (Ooooo-kay...what's next?)
