No Thanks Redux

In the spirit of an earlier post, I have one more pitcher to add to my "No Thanks" list.

This is Grant.
He pitches for the Devil Rays.
Grant's last name? Balfour. Yes, Balfour!
No thanks, Grant. Now if you have any cousins from the Strikthree tribe, let me know.

Much laughter is coming from my mouth right now that I can't figure out how to translate to my keyboard!

He probably should go to the NL because at least there we know he can get on first base. :)

I laughed too...the word (name) "Balfour" is the name of a doctor who invented a "self-retaining" abdominal retractor!! (It's all a matter of perspective, no?) The "a" and "l" are pronounced like the name "Al"...not "all", right? Maybe the pitcher was distantly-related to that good physician. Something to research...

Brent R. married a Balfour. They now have five boys, none of whom play baseball, but I hear they are angels.

Funny. Have you ever seen the book about names? There is a urologist by the name of P. P. Peters, just to mention one of hundreds of names that probably should have chosen another profession.
