Haiku the First

Topic One: Chaos Theory (the butterfly effect)

Wendy's entry:

Italian cows moo

on a hillside. Worlds away,
I hear, "buy more shooooes..."

Steve's entry:

Gossamer wings flap.

The Angels lose yet again.
Nothing else makes sense.

You may now vote at will.

According to Wikipedia, once I scrolled past the ancient Japanese history, a modern take on Haiku goes something like this: three lines of 17 syllables total, normally 5-7-5, and use of a caesura (an audible pause formed by punctuation) "to implicitly contrast and compare two events or situations." Traditionally, they have to reflect something in nature/seasonal change.

A more primitive form can be found in gargantuan pages of truly tastless SpamKu:

Perfection uncanned,
Like a beautiful redhead
Fresh from her trailer.

If I vote for Wendy, how will this affect my relationship with you?

We're all friends here. So far it's Wendy 3, Steve 0. (I voted for her too.)

Something makes me think that Steve is going to switch sword hands with a flourish, declaring that he's not left-handed. It’s all about me (I don’t get it, as opposed to what?) so I, too, vote for mine in this round.

No fair. Sandra's not even playing and hers was better than mine.

Wendy wins Round 1.
I chalk it up to blonde luck.
Round 2 is coming.

My Math Brother with the sports reference gets my vote.
A haiku about the price of tea in China (or in this case, the price of leather in Italy) doesn't do anything for me. Keep trying Wendy.

Thank you all for your votes of confidence! So, Steve, ready for round 2? I believe that it's your turn to post a topic, unless you're ready to take your blog and go home.

This would be fun even if I lost this round. :)

I read the comments and scores, and more importantly than deciding the winner of round one, all that was said literally made me cackle with glee. I rarely laugh out loud when I'm alone...

Wendy has round one...and my vote!
Also, I'm truely NOT prejudiced...I consider Steve like a "relative"!
