A. Saturday in the Park (by Chicago) B. Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting (by Elton John) C. The Theme Song from Saturday Night Live (by Howard Shore) D. Saturday (by The Carpenters)
Rick revises his vote. His favorite is E - Other; Def Leppard's High and Dry (Saturday Night).
His opinion of the first four? While he likes Chicago and any band that can carry a tune, in parts, is a good thing, he agrees with Mark Knopfler in "The Sultans of Swing" - it ain't what they call rock and roll. Elton John woudn't do well in any fight... C isn't a song, it's a theme, it's not like "I'll Be There For You" from Friends which actually got airplay, and a Carpenters song should never be in the top of anything.
HAS to be SNL's Theme!!! I wish that band would put out a CD...I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But then, I'm a HUGE jazz/R&B/blues lover. And that theme has it all...it's the funkiest, most "down-and-dirty" tune I've ever heard!! (But I like Chicago too)
I have to disagree with Wendy, on a minor note...the Carpenters did one song that was performed at the PBS memorial concert a few days after 9/11. It is called "A Song for You" which has always been one of my favorites. Great music...great lyrics.

Have to go with Saturday in the Park, as that's the only one which will sing in my head at the moment.
Rick agrees with Holly - Saturday in the Park. Sounds good to me. Three votes for A so far.

Shoot the messenger.
Saturday, in the Park.
But rainy days and sundays always get me down.
The Theme from Saturday Night Live by far!
